Mission Statement
One of our founding members has created a video to go with the mission statement found on our homepage:
Parent Support
A team of teachers (part of BC Educators for Human Rights) have been working hard organizing the next legal steps in preparation for the expected upcoming mandates for school staff that has yet to be announced, but is expected within the next few weeks. The lawyer, who is local to Abbotsford, BC has crafted a pro-bono letter originally sent to the BCTF standing against teacher mandates. The letter is here and permission to spread it widely has been granted and is encouraged. Please remember to include the lawyer’s letter with whatever personal email / letter you will accompany it with. School Boards will give more weight to parent voices than teacher voices!
In addition to the lawyer letter we have found two sample letters for parents that can be referenced and / or copy & pasted directly into a personal email to the School Board. Feel free to utilize these sample emails to your own benefit. The purpose of offering these samples is to aid busy or confused parents in the writing process, as some may feel lost as to what to write or not have the time to craft a letter themselves. These samples can also be shared among communities who are against the teacher mandates.
